| | Bruce, Rehobeth C.C. Ma. is a good test from the back tees, 7000 yards.
    North Kingston G. C. in R. I. is nice along with Exceter C.C. R.I.
also. Blackstone C.C. in Blackstone, Ma. is short but tricky, although
I have never played it. Heather Hill in Plainville, Ma is in tough
shape I hear. Give me a call (DTN 273-5387) if you plan to play.
I live in Sharon, halfway between Boston and Providence and do not
need much of an excuse to play.

    Some more are:

Glen Ellen (Millis) -- Fairly long but open. Very popular place
for tournaments, office outings etc. Call before going. They use
to have a deal (2 years ago), on Monday it was $10 for 18 holes
    and a cart.

Hopedale CC : Semi private, I believe anyone can play during the
    week or late on weekends.

Franklin -- Private, but rumor was they were in trouble finacially,
so a call may get you on.

There is also one next to Holliston High school, par 66, but not
bad to kill a couple hours.

Milford also has a public course, don't remember the name. You
could also look in the yellow pages, they usually list most of the
    courses in the area.

    Bruce,

I haven't played any courses in southern MA, but I bought at the pro
shop of Stow Acres C.C. a booklet titled:

"A Guide to Massachusetts' Golf Courses"

which lists 300-400 courses, including for most of them phone,
address, # holes, par, rating, yardage and facilities available.
Also if it is private, semiprivate or public.

    I think I payed $4 or $5 for it.

| | Hi,
My advice is to go for Franklin Country Club, a course that was
laid out in 1899 and plays as a true challenge to all aspects of
    your game.

| | I believe that Franklin CC use to be only a 9 hole course.
They added another 9 about 15-20 years ago. (I think).

Does anyone know if any leagues exist in the FXO area? I'd
like to join as a regular or a substitute. I posted a note
in the league topic, but thought I'd try here also.

    		thanks for any information.
