    I agree! I did notice that Greg stuck the check in his pocket though.

     Greg Norman is one class act! He deserved the win. And how many
    others out there on the tour would go out of thier way as much as
    Norman did? A really super, compassionate, and unselfish act!
    And I genuinely believe it was done from his heart, not because
    he was on television. I'll be cheering for Greg Norman from now
    on!

    RE: .3

    The way I heard it was that this boy (I didn't catch his name) sent
    Greg a letter asking for his autograph or whatever, Greg sent him
    a postcard with his autograph. The kid got it the day before he
    went into the hospital, which helped to raise his spirits. Since
    then the boy found out that he has lucemia. He became a lucema wish
    child, they give you a wish like to go to Disney World. This boy
    desided he wanted to meet Greg, so they sent him to MCI to stay
    and to get to meet Greg. The problem was that his return flight
    was going to leave Sunday at 12:30 and he would have missed the
    end of the tourney. Greg volunteered to take him home in his private
    plane so he could be there for the finish. To top it all off Greg
    won the tourney and gave the kid the trophy.

    Great gesture Greg...

    That is the basics from what I heard

| 252.5 | A class act | USMRM3::CBRADSHAW |  | Tue Apr 19 1988 15:44 | 6 |
| | I've always thought Greg Norman was a class act. He has lost some
    tournaments in some very unusual ways (Bob Tway out of the bunker
    and of course Larry Mizes' chip in) and he always has shown a lot
    of class in victory as well as defeat.

| 252.6 | A very moving scene - Norman, you're all right! | AUTHOR::F_MCGOWAN |  | Tue Apr 19 1988 16:18 | 6 |
| | The young man's name is Jamie Hutton, and if you didn't get a lump
    in your throat watching him cross his fingers as Norman lined up
    the putt on 18, to stay one shot in the lead, well, you ought to
    have your cardiovascular system checked: you are obviously heart-
    less! It was one of the most outstanding moments I've seen, and
    I'll save that videotape a long time.
