| 160.1 | Green Meadows #1, Hudson, NH | DICKNS::F_MCGOWAN |  | Thu Oct 29 1987 12:39 | 11 |
| | The number 1 course in Hudson, NH (Green Meadows) is a nice course,
not too hard for a beginner (stay away from number 2 course, which
is tougher). There is a driving range also, but it's not lighted.
Don't know if there's a pro there. Someone at the course can probably
suggest a teacher. Too bad you live so far from Wayland and Stow,
Mass: I'd recommend a guy named Dave Heuser, who teaches at those
courses. Good luck. If the weather holds, you can probably get in
a round or two before winter sets in.

| | There are two courses in Mass. near Lowell that you could try:
1)Country Club of Billerica, 667-8061, 9 holes, located just out of
Billerica Center, Golf pro is Barry Bruce, very good with beginners (and
others). Driving range but not lit at night. Course is somewhat
narrow with trouble to sides. Worth a shot.....or two....
2)Apple Country Club, Chelmsford, 256-8373. Open 9 holer, has pro
but no range. Give it a try sometime....not a bad little course
    	off Rte. 27

There is also the Tyngsboro course on the east side of the river
in tynsgboro. It is I believe $8 for nine and $12 for 18. The
owner was doing some redesign of a couple of holes last time I was
    there.
