| 37.1 | `69 Firebird 350 | TOOK::COMUZZI | The better the four-wheel drive, the further out you get stuck. | Tue Jul 09 1991 20:51 | 24 |

I'm being forced (by my wife) to sell my `69 Firebird (I at least get
to keep the `71 for a while longer). The car has been off the road in N.J.
since `82, though it was still driving then. It has some rust, and would
need restoration, but it's basically all there. (No - the number's don't
match, the car has been re-engined with what it originally had - a 350 and
I believe the left front fender has been replaced.) The interior is not
perfect - there's a broken panel on the shifter, the parking brake release
is broken, etc. It has an automatic transmission.
The question - and I realize this this is a non-trivial one, is how do I
get a handle on a fair price. I get SMOKE SIGNALS (The Pontiac-Oakland
Club rag) and have some idea from the ad's in there, but clearly, those
are just asking prices. Does anyone want to share their experiances with
how much below those numbers people actually pay? Is it worth getting the
car appraised? My gut tells me that selling it into POCI (or through other
similar media like this notesfile) will take a while, but yield a higher
price - Is my intuition correct?
I don't have to sell it immediately, but my parents are planning to sell
the house it's stored at - and Kate has made it clear that it is NOT
    coming to Massachusetts.

Got a buddy trying to unload a '69 TRANS AM if anybody is
interested. It's got a 400 Auto in it. The original block
blew up so it doesn't have the original but most of the parts
are off of the original; also, someone has swiped the ram-air
pans. He's looking for around $7500.

| 37.11 | '71 part mine price reduced | TUXEDO::COMUZZI | The better the four-wheel drive, the further out you get stuck. | Wed Jan 05 1994 12:08 | 25 |

Well, I'm droping the price on my `71 Firebird.
The bad news: It has severe rust on the rear quarter panels. It has
spots of rust on the hood and doors and a dent on the right front
fender. There's some rips in the ceiling cloth and the seats are fairly
worn. It has a slow cooling system leak, I think near the water pump.
The A/C is broken. The numbers don't match, the front fenders have
been replaced and the engine was replaced, the engine has about 90K
miles on it, the frame 178K.
The good news: There's a veritable gold mine of parts! The console is
completely there as are various other detail parts. The engine and
power train are mechanically sound. The frame is good. It's has a 350
    with automatic transmission.

I'm selling it because I just don't have the time to play with it
anymore. My wife doesn't want a car we can't trust, so she just bought
a `94 Honda Accord. This gives us 3 cars with 2 drivers, so...
I'm asking $750.00 in printed ads, if you're interested:
