2827.0. "Piano SGU help" by PCOJCT::RYAN () Fri Jan 17 1992 10:26
    Hi,

I'm interested in adding some good piano type sounds to my current
set-up. I need both acoustic and electric type sounds and would like to
ask your folks for some quick recommendations and comments.

I've read most of the piano related topics already and found them to be
for the most part informative, but dated. What, I could use is some
quick, check this out type comments from you folks.

I'm tring to stay within a budget of 400-500 and would consider used
equipment as well as new. I'd prefer an SGU but would consider a full
keyboard if it met my needs.

I'm currently thinking about an EMU Preformer/+1 ( is this right?),
selling about 400 new. I've read good things about the Roland module,
P-330 I think. I assume they would fit my financial guidelines as used
    equipment.

Please feel free to comment and suggest. again, I'm not looking for
a technical review. Just your candid comments and suggestions.

	As always, thanks in advance,
    	Gary

| | E-Mu PROformer. I've found E-Mu pianos to be quite bright and cutting,
great in a rock mix, poor for solo use. Of course, just rolling off
the highs with EQ is easy.

I'll second Karl's endorsement. A friend of mine use an Emu
Piano module on a song we did together. It has very nice piano
    sounds.
