Heard a hot rumor on USENET that is supposed to be confrimed in the
    October Transoniq Hacker:

Ensoniq has repackaged the 24 bit effects processor used in the VFX, SQ
and EPS-16 machines as a standalone unit.

Should be interesting to see how this does in an admittedly crowded
    marketplace.

| Last night I attended an Ensoniq clinic in Boulder. The rumor was that the DP/4 (Multi-digital effects box) was going to be there -- It wasn't. The area rep said the offical statement was "The DP/4 would not be available until February of 1992 due to a delay in one of their vendors." The rest of the clinic was about the same as the clinic I saw last January. BTW: they did gave out some nice new 'Ensoniq' BVD T-shirts with a new colorful artsy keyboard design on the front.
