| | I have played on the precursor of the WX11, the WX7, for almost three years
now and I love it. I use it both with a TX81Z and an Oberheim Matrix 1000.
Works very well. Never tried the WX11 though.

There's a new one out from Yamahaha, although I think it may be
more of a consumer oriented thing.
I saw it in the window of the Yamaha showroom on W57th ST. It
seemed to have a tabletop module attached to it. It may not even
be midi(yikes). The module said EMT-XX or something similar.

| | Rich,
The model I played and heard demonstrated was definitely MIDI. As part of the
demo, Simon Bates played it through Yamaha's new SY77 synth. The WT11 is a
pretty small module, though.
> consumer oriented
Aren't we all consumers? I'd hate to buy a product that wasn't consumer
oriented. I spend too much of my time documenting products that aren't
particularly consumer oriented.

What I meant by consumer oriented was the device was presented
in such a way that it seemed anyone could pick it up and play away.
The accompanying ad/poster in the showroom showed some jam-clad
beach type wailing away while his bikini-clad bimbos looked on with
    awe/admiration/lust?.
Certainly not an advertisement associated with the WX11.

| | Rich,
OK, I get the picture. A sort of "They Laughed When I Sat Down At The Piano"
situation. (Though I wouldn't object, per se, to the bimbos.)
