| | The YPR-9 was the lowest model with velocity sensing. I don't know if
the -7 has MIDI. Think of it as a monotimbral, non-velocity-sensing
keyboard. The owner is probably trying to get $200.00 or so, and will
have a lot of trouble. The sound is not (as I recall) sample-based,
which means that it is the Y-word FM sound, and not something that will
really satisfy a piano enthusiast. This was a low-end model.

| | I have the YPR-9: I bought it Xmas 1988 for $300 used, and I've seen it
as recently as three months ago at Daddy's for over $400 used. The
YPR-7 is identical, I think, except the YPR-9 has a reverb feature
(it's labelled "symphonic" or something dumb). I'm almost certain that
the YPR-7 is touch-sensitive and has MIDI. It's easy enough to check:
hit the keys and look at the back.

I like the vibes, harpsichord, and Rhodes patches a LOT. The two piano
patches are OK and crummy, respectively. It weighs about fifteen pounds
including the built-in speakers, and runs on batteries: the perfect
beach keyboard. I'd consider $250 a good deal.
