There are lots of notes elsewhere in the conference that discuss MIDI
mods to pianos/Rhodes'/etc. DIR/TITLE="Rhodes" or "MOD" or some such
will give you an idea.
The bottom line is this: it's too expensive for the average guy to do.
A MIDI MOD kit for a Rhodes (from Forte Music) the last I checked ran
around $800 (I also have a Rhodes).
Believe me, it ain't worth it.

I'd be FAR more inclined to get something like an RD-250 or an RD-300.
It has a really great Rhodes sound, a similar keyboard feel and
the following additional advantages:
o Builtin MIDI
o Splittable keyboard (separate MIDI channels for upper and lower
as well as upper and lower MIDI volume)
o Builtin chorus and adjustable vibrato
o EXCELLENT piano, harpsichord, clav, vibe sounds in addition
to the Rhodes sounds
o Much lighter than a Rhodes, probably much more durable although
it IS still a Roland and we all know how unreliable their stuff
is ;-)
o Headphone jack
o Transpose feature (both local and MIDI)
So for somewhat more money you can end up keeping the Rhodes and
getting ANOTHER keyboard with MIDI with much more capabilities.
I think it's eminently a better idea (and there are similar things
to the RD's made by other co's of course although I think Roland
has the best synthetic Rhodes sound by far).
