That's MKB-1000

	The MKB-200 is, as one might expect, a shaved down version of the 300.
It has only 5 octaves (61 keys) and can control a maximum of two MIDI channels.
It is the same exact shape of a Juno 106 and, like the 106, has 128 memory
slots for controller programs. It has a memory cartridge slot for more (do
people *really* need more than 128?). It can do just about anything with those
two channels; split, layer, overlap... The memory locations store all these,
including patch mapping, controller changes, MIDI volume, etc.... The keys are
unweighted, like the 300.
	LaSalle's was selling the MKB-200 for $399 last month.
	Personally, I don't think the MKS-10 is worth much more than something
to sit on when the seat is too low.

    Jeez, you piano players are so touchy......

    I don't complain when I hear bass patches that sound like goose
    farts.......

| 942.3 | Any MKB-200's lately? | HPSRAD::NORCROSS |  | Mon Jun 13 1988 14:42 | 12 |
| | Has anybody seen any MKB-200's in Boston area stores lately?
I haven't really looked or asked any salespersons, just thought I would ask
the general commusic public if they've seen any lately.
Are they in or out of production? Prices?
Thanks,
/Mitch
(I really need a cheap, velocity-sensitive, non-weighted action,
 5 or so octave, keyboard controller.)

	I was up at Steve's in Danvers and they had a trade-in. They wanted
over $500 for it (LaSalle's was blowing them out for $399). Yes, they are out
of production. Best place to find 'em - in the Want-Ads.

I just called there, and the salesperson said the tag was $795!@#$%^&
A doubled price on a used and out of date controller?#$%^&*
Must have been a good one.

None last week or this week. Maybe next week.
Thanks a bunch,

| 942.6 | Check out Cheetah | HPSTEK::RHODES |  | Thu Jun 16 1988 09:05 | 8 |
| | LaSalle in Boston carries Cheetah products. I *think* the Cheetah
vel/aftertouch controller goes for $399. Didn't look too sturdy tho.
5 octaves, I think.
I'm looking for a Vel/Aftertouch controller too, and will probably end up
with a synth supporting local-off (some time in the distant future).
Todd.

| 942.7 | MKB200 velocity sensitivity | HPSRAD::NORCROSS | Thrive on Change | Sun Dec 04 1988 12:53 | 15 |
| | I'm not sure If I reported it anywhere, but I ended up purchasing a new
     MKB200 for $350 from Manny's in NYC last Spring. They mailed it to
     me, so it was tax free.
I have a question just in case anybody has/had one and knows the answer.
     The velocity sensitivity is adjustable from 1 to 5 - but to bring
     up the value on the display, you must set it to one of those 5
     first by hitting one of the corresponding keys. My question is -
     which level does it set to on power-up?
I guess I could do some experiments to find out, if noone has the
     answer.
Thanks,
/Mitch
