| | The Sun's a contemptible rag, all right.

Their cartoonist is not only tasteless and insensitive, but also
utterly un-funny and an execrable artist.

In the recent Ontario election the Sun abandoned all pretence to
journalist "objectivity" and acted essentially as cheerleaders for the
provincial Tories. Most papers have a pretty obviious political bias,
but I've never seen anything like the Sun's behaviour this year.

It is a terrible paper, and the cartoon (which someone showed me) was
    tasteless and stupid.

| | What are you saying that the Sun is not a credible paper !?

Well I'l be. But if you are looking to purchase something or line the
litter box it does a pretty good job.

    Who was the cartoonist? Donato?

| | The cartoonist is Sue Dewar.

In yesterday's sun, they printed a full page of comments that they
received from the public, none of which were flattering. Yesterday's
cartoon was of a cartoonist sitting at her work table with the same
    beaver knawing at her leg.

The Ottawa Sun is garbage. Advertisers should react, but then where
    else could escort agencies advertise!

    Bernie.

| | The Sun the day after, published an entire page of letters to the
editor expressing similar views on the cartoon.

Interesting, too, is that while neither the newspaper nor the
cartoonist are offering apologies, the Sun's editors answered each of
letters. With an excuse, reason, arguement.

I didn't like the cartoon, either, but I felt that the Sun should have
taken its licks, said we're sorry, and gone on.

The Toronto Sun has published more than a few vile cartoons by Donato
in it's day, and never apologized for any of them, to the best of my
    knowledge.
