         Hi everyone! 
    
     This may be a long shot, but here goes!!!
     Just wondering if we have any "off-roaders"
     (4wd owners) in here who would know of some
     great places to go four wheel driving in the
     Ottawa-Qu�bec area.

	Blair,

	West of the city, near the town of Calabogie, there are
	virtually endless offroad trails.

	Up behind Pakenham there are some.

	On the Quebec side, around Quyon.

    The old K & P railway line (Kingston & Pembroke, or as it was
    affectionately referred to by users, the Kick & Push line) has been
    used for years for `off-road' machines - summer and winter.
    
    You can pick it up in places like Levant Station, Calabogie, Flower
    Station, etc.

	You can catch the K&P at Calabogie golf course (just before
	Barevale Lodge. This can potentially take you right down to
	Sharbot Lake.

	It is tr�s boring (although picturesque) on this trail but it
	does afford you access to many very interesting (read muddy)
	offshoots.

         Thanks, Folks!  I really appreciate the prompt and indeed 
    helpful responses.  I'm sure the National Capitol Commission
    will be thankful as well, since I've been frequently sighted
    around the experimental farms trying out my 4X4!   8*)
    
         While I'm typing, I should investigate to see if you gentlemen
    know of some great fishing spots along these areas.  Just last
    Saturday, the girlfriend and I headed up to Claton Lake and discovered
    accessing it was somewhat difficult unless you OWNED some lakeside
    property.  So, we headed off to Christie Lake and on to Bob's Lake
    which was suggested by a friend.  Since this was the first time 
    fishing in Ontario, we didn't know what we would catch.  I caught
    mostly small yellow-perch as well as a couple of bass, all of which
    I threw back because of their size.
    
         During our day-expedition, we noticed something very familiar
    as we travelled from lake to lake......every piece of land or road
    which will lead you to the lake-front is usually owned by someone
    and clearly marked PRIVATE - NO TRESSPASSING!  Are there any lakes
    in Ontario which have NOT become Cottage Condos?
