Can anyone tell me if it is possible to rent a Cellular Telephone in Vancouver for a month? Is there somewhere at the airport that does such a rental? How extensive is the service availability through BC and Alberta? I assume only major towns and highways. Regards, Geoff (Also posted in the Cellular Telephones conference)

Geoff, I called B.C. Mobility and they said you can rent cell phones by the month. To get a rate, you would have to call one of their distributors. (If you want to contact them, they will accept collect calls from anywhere in North America: (604) 291-2355) I called Nedco Cellular (one distributor) and they quoted me $200 per month (one month min) and $.50 per minute. They area of coverage includes almost major cities and highways. If you head into the interior, they only cover the Coquihalla Highway. The service stops at Sycamoos, starts again at Revelstoke, ends just outside of Revelstoke and AGT picks it up again at Banff. AGT will cover you almost anywhere in Alberta because they dont have mountains to worry about. Cheers, Dave. | |||||
