Actually this has been looked into by the Canadian Indians. They have
found technology which allows extraction of the TAR sands.Unfortunatly
the new technology is very labour intensive. The breakthrough in the
technology is the relatively short set up time required, once the
technology is put into place. The unfortunate part is Kentucky Fried
Chicken makes you buy a meal before they will hand out straws to
    the local indians.

Recent petroleum price hikes and shortages have lead to
major cutbacks in many sectors of the world economic
market. Recent remarks from Richardson Industry insiders
remark that "[our] company as being one of the hardest hit".
As one employee was overheard to say "How can we be manufacture
products up to our usual level of slipperyness and
flamability without the stuff". Relief up until now has
been carefully gleaned from the korlif barwunlke culture
tanks. The new compound is said to be more flamable and
almost as slippery as the crude.
