Can anyone tell me what the ski conditions would be like at
Whistler/Blackcomb the first week of April?

Last I heard there was a 250cm base, is this accurate? What would be
the chances of rain - or on the opposite side, getting some powder?

Lastly are there any low-cost motels or condos near the mountain?

    Thanks,
    Mike.

| I was at Blackcomb last weekend, March 25. Yes there is a 250cm base
but no new snow. Condition is hard pack in the morning, softer in the
afternoon. Skiing out to the village is OK even at 4:00 pm. Both 7th
Heaven and the Glacier area is fantastic, excellent skiing. Expect the
same for the first week of April, make sure you have a lot of
sun-screen (major sun-tan !!!) There are really no cheap accomodations
near the mountain. But it is low-season in April, so expect to pay
$75++ for a single room. Or, try staying in Squamish (30 minute drive).
Chances of rain ? We have been getting sunny weather and +12C all week.
    Have fun.

Went to Whistler April 7-14 and thoroughly enjoyed myself (see SKIING
516.20 for more). Caught two days of rain/fog, but the other days of
sun and extreme skiing made up for it. I'll be back.

| The following question was asked in another note that for some reason
was set hidden ... however, the question is generic ...
