| | When you have to cut down as many trees as us Canadians, you
have to be properly dressed. I mean there's a LOT of TREES an IGLOOS
    up here!!!
Well I'm going to the cafe for a penguin sandwich.....

| | >>a lumberjack outfit, is degrating and I don't even live in Canada,
>>it must be worse for you...

Well Rich, I'm not sure what you mean by 'degrating' but I
do know that 'up' here we like to take grated cheese and put the little
bits back together again to form a large patty of cheese. Then we hang
them up on a branch to freeze solid (or, further north above the treeline
we hang them on the windshield of a Ski-doo). These are then used by our
kids as 'freeze-bees'.
I like my lumberjack outfit, my wife even polishes my boots each
day with moose fat before coming to work. The wife is really into the
tree business, she can jump-start a chain-saw, gnaw through a tree in
seconds flat, and split 8 cords of firewood with her bare-feet.
My father-in-law is into igloos - he eats them, especially the ones
with the soft, creamy centres!
Well, gotta go and have some lunch - penguin soup, pemmican pat,
minced yak hooves, all washed down with a flagon of maple syrup and
Moosehead beer...ummmmmmmmm!!

pulling your leg. My wife is in excellent shape, and she can only
split 4 cords of wood with her bare feet.

my wife isn't very good at chopping wood, even WITH MOCCASINS ON,
so I can't seem to get the igloo warm enough to thaw the auger off!!!

| | You must have heard the latest fishing/Newfie (person from Newfoundland
    for you foreigners) joke:

Newfie is out on the ice to do some ice fishing...
Start to make a hole in the ice and hears a booming voice say...
    "There are no fish here".
Looks around, sees no one, moves further along the ice, and starts
to make another hole... hears again...
    "There are no fish here!"
Goes through the motions again of moving and making a hole and hears...
"I told you, there are no fish here!"
Frustrated, he shouts to the air "Who is this, God?"

And the voice answers back "No you idiot, it's the Zamboni driver!"

I hope you folks (that's Disneyese for 'people') realize that the
Canadian Pavilion may have been designed by Disney Imagineers (that'
Disneyese for 'Engineer') but your Ministry of Travel and Tourism
(that's Canadian for 'Department of...', in case any Americans are
interested...) had approved of every part of the Pavillon. As a
matter of fact, the pavilion shows a Circle 360 (that's Disneyese
for 'All around ya') film, called, "O' Canada". It's a very good
movie showing the major cities (Canadian for 'Large group of Igloos'?)
and their night life (not going to touch that one...) as well as
some of the wilderness areas (in Canada? Nah...). One of the most
popular films in the parks. The Disney people, in cooperation with
the Minestry of Travel and Tourism, put together a new film. It
didn't show one city, just a lot of beaver and moose and many trees.
There was so many complaints that the Disney people had to bring
back the original film and had to scrap the new Circle 360 film.
Seeing a film with trees all around you wasn't too thrilling, but
you all know what it's like to be surrounded by trees, don't ya?

So much for a serious inquiry,
    Rich.

Just as a quick note re.7...

You expected something different (or maybe I should have said 'better')
from OUR governement? As soon as you said it was approved by the
Ministry of Travel and Tourism, I knew it would be something portraying
Canada as undeveloped wildland! They always do!

But I've got to get back to teaching the kids how to harpoon whales,
and run the dogsled, right after I change out of my lumberjack
    outfit...

| | I visited the World Showcase at Epcot 3 years ago. In comparison
to the rest of Disney's acomplishments the Showcase is poor. The
only good display's there are the US pavilion if one likes history
and the Mexican one. I new something was wrong in the Canadian display
when I noticed that the people had a distinct problem with their
    dialect.(no eh's).
When I got home I enquired re Canada's involment in the display
and found out that when Diseny contacted the Fed's for their inputs
they dropped the ball and did not respond. As a result the Canadian
exhibit is an American Impression of Canada, and given the type
of responses in this conference one can understand why Americans
have some strange impressions of Canada.

... well back to work... sure glad these vax's are getting
smaller. They fit in the dog-sled a little better, the Documentation
    is becoming a problem.

    	G'day EH

Actually as an aside, I remember hearing that the Ministry
of Tourism decided to tone down the "Undeveloped wilderness"
ads, as they were having the affect of "scaring away" potential
visitors. As a matter of fact, most advertisements seeking
to bring tourism to canada are now stressing the "european"
city life, great shopping, dining and hotels. Even Newfoundland
is doing its best to appear Urban these days...
