A question in an ITT asks (in the context of UNIX on a server):
'What is the level of IGMP support of the (proposed) systems ? Are
there any limits on the number of multicast groups supported ?'
As far as I can tell (reading SPDs etc) we provide some support, but a
fuller reply would be welcome.
many thanks,

DUNIX releases prior to V4.0 supported IGMP V1 (RFC 1112 Appendix-I).
Starting from V4.0, we provide support fro IGMPv2 currently RFC still
in a draft mode replacing Appendix I of RFC 1112. (to be exact:
draft-ietf-idmr-igmp-v2-06.txt)
I don't know of any limit imposed by system on numbers of MCAST
groups...
