We have become very fond of the top program to watch our systems. We
have started installing v4.0b, and top doesnt work. I recompiled it and
it almost works, except the last field where the command is shown is
blank.
Has anyone got a working top for V4?

I'm actually using the "top" executable that I built a year ago or more on 3.2C. It seems to still work fine on V4.0. -Jeff D. | |||||

Thanks. The top I have been using under v3.2x wont even run on v4. No
dump or anything, just returns. The one I complied under V4 works, but
shows no command.
I just checked the README, my top is V3.3. Is that the latest?

Hi I use top also successfully on V4.0*... you should check http://www-unix.zk3.dec.com/tuning/tools/tools.html Read the top section about memory problems...and patches... | |||||
