Hi all, I've noticed a strange message in kern.log. It reads as follows: "vmunix: We have an empty buffer error - intr path" This message appears 4 times. At around the same time, an application exits with an error on a recv on a socket. I'm not sure if the two are connected? Any assistance appreciated. Greg Carmody.

| Hi Greg, I can not find this message by strings /vmunix | grep 'buffer' | grep 'error' on either 3.2d-1 or 4.0b so its either in your kernel because of some option I don't have linked or that vmunix: is an error. Try strings on your kernel and confirm that it is the source of the message. Then have a look through the applications binaries and see if it is the source? Cheers Mark :) [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||

| Thanks, Mark. I'll try what you suggest. By the way, the configuration is DU3.2g and DECss7 running on Alpha 1000A. It could be related to an option built into the kernel, as I recall DECss7 rebuilds the kernel after installation. Regards, Greg. | |||||
