Folks,
Could someone please describe the purpose and use of the ubc-nfsloopback
parameter? (Is this documented somewhere?)
Thanks.

| 9345.1 | ubc-nfsloopback is to avoid deadlocks and improve performance of local nfs mounts | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Sri | Tue Apr 01 1997 17:00 | 15 |
Hi, This fixes a deadlock when using NFS loopback, mounts. If the configurable ubc_nfsloopback is set, all dirty pages will be skipped while performing a critical routine thus, avoiding deadlock situation(s). NFS loopback mounts, i.e., mounting an NFS filesystem as a client on the same system it is served from. Even if you're not doing loopback mounts, this is a good parameter to have, as it fixes numerous related problems, and thus increases performance. -Sri [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||
