| 9223.1 | uunsupported disk format | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Maggie Peterson | Wed Mar 19 1997 14:24 | 16 |
| | Our apologies for an error message that is not very useful:
	cdfs_mount: Unknown descriptor type
In fact, this message has been changed to:
	cdfs_mount: Unsupported disk format
This message is reported when the standard identifier on
the disk does not match one of the formats that is
supported by CDFS.  These are:
"CD001" - ISO 9660 format
"CDROM" - High Sierra Group format
Please contact the disk manufacturer to verify the format
of the disk.

| 9223.2 | why does it work on versions prev. to V4.0 ? | MUNICH::CUZUM |  | Thu Mar 20 1997 04:11 | 7 |
| | Ok, but than why does it work with the same command line on
    dUNIX-Versions previous to V4.0? Do they support more disk formats with
    CDFS than V4.0 does?

    Regards,

    Corina

| 9223.3 | please enter QAR | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Maggie Peterson | Thu Mar 20 1997 06:48 | 10 |
| | There has been no intentional modifications to CDFS since v4.0
which would cause some disks to become unmountable. Each disk
has a unique layout because of its unique file names. Therefore
some disks cause the execution of code paths which don't get
exercised regularly, but which have bugs.
Please enter a QAR for this problem, and include which known
version(s) of Digital UNIX can successfully mount this disk,
and which version(s) cannot.
