9143.0. "Problem under v4.0a with LAT ?" by VAXRIO::63116::CARDOSO () Wed Mar 12 1997 13:06
	Hi everyone,
	I have a customer with a recently upgraded system.
	He is running OSF/1 v4.0a with Progress database.
	Immediately after the upgrade he started to complain about queues not
	printing. Intermittantly some of it's LAT's queues stops printing,
there is no error message in /usr/adm/lp15err, except for "cat:output
error" when I tried to cat a file. Once it happens, if you issue a file
command towards the LAT device in question it hangs your process, the only way
to get around is to stop and start LAT.
	The Server involved is a 90TL, with v1.1 bl 44-10 lat v5.1 rom 2.0.0
	I have checked about any patch, but found none.
	Please any help would be appreciated.

	Thanks in advance,
	Regards
	Daniel Cardoso

| 9143.1 | two things to check | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | leon strauss | Wed Mar 12 1997 16:59 | 14 |
| | Two things you can check ...
	# latcp -d -P
	to confirm that the connection exists between
	the tty device and the terminal server+port
	# ps -YOUR-FAVOURITE-FLAGS to see if there
	is any other process (e.g. an orphan print
	filter) that is still talking to the device.
Hope this helps
	leon
