Hello all I have got a call from a customer with the following error message being reported from his system: vmunix: link transmit failure This is from /var/adm/messages. There are no other errors reported on the system. uerf/decevent are clean. Does anyone have any idea what the above message means, and what may cause it? Thanks Alec.

Hi, This is probably network related, both the fta (FDDI) and tu (Ethernet) drivers will spit out messages like this. Is there a cable disconnected or loose? Was the error really something like "fta0: Link transmit failure"? I'm assuming the customer paraphrased the string. -Brian [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Hi Brian, Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure about the paraphrasing, but I think that the cust was reading the message as it was in /var/adm/messages, but I'll confirm that with him later. Thanks again Alec.
