    Hi,
My customer is querying me as to why their 'maxdsiz' parameter in
/sys/conf/BINA3 has a negative value. I append below as follows:

    #
    # Special options (see configuring the kernel chapter
    # in the Guide to System Administration)
    #
    timezone 0 dst 0
    dfldsiz 268435456
maxdsiz -2147483648 --> this parameter has a negative value!
    dflssiz 4194304
    maxssiz 67108864
    cpu "DEC2100_A500"
    maxusers 128
    maxuprc 512
    machine alpha

Attempts to change this parameter to a positive value causes the system
to provide only 64 processes per user. Can someone help me out here?

    Thanks and regards,
    Ray

| Looks like something used a signed 32 bit integer when it shouldn't have. If this is a remotely modern version of the operating system, submit a QAR or IPMT. If this is an older version, see if it has been fixed in a modern version. If they get the expect 4 GB data space, don't worry too much about it. Going beyond that will tough though. | |||||
