| 1462.17 | Housekeeping "hidden" switch? | WOTVAX::BELL | Martin Bell @BBP | Tue Feb 18 1997 14:25 | 12 |
| | I heard on the grapevine that there is a hidden switch somewhere in the
    ALL-IN-1 housekeeping routines that will automatically fix the "old
    attachment pointer" and/or composite flag automatically - rather than
    relying on "manual" code as mentioned in .14.

    Does anyone know what this switch is (if it indeed exists), as we have
    a lot of "broken" file cabinets on a lot of servers, and we really need
    a simple, automatic way of putting things right.

    Cheers,

| | Well, the word 'COMPOSITE' doesn't appear in any of the scripts or
    command procedures in OA$LIB, so I'd have to say I don't think there is
    such a switch. Which grapevine did you hear this from?

|  |     Graham,

    The fix may be just for "duff pointers" rather than the composite flag,
    but i sounds like i may have to "bend" the code from Mr Mason if this is
    all my imagination.

    p.s. The Grapes are Messrs Harvey and Hulin, over at TVP, but i am not
    sure which is red and which is white!
