| | is that right? it seems we're only partly true psychics because
we're but a part of god, but children, reflections. only god can
    be truly true.

truly true, partly true, partly false (fully false? not possible)

| | ?? I believe everyone has the ability to be or become psychic. It's
how open ones mind is capable of being. A person needs to learn how to
control the unconscience and use it. The average person only uses,
    what? 1/4 of our brain?
You can be taught how to leviate objects with "psychic" power. You
can be taught how to control and direct your dreams.

It's all in the mind of the beholder, and we all ehold the power.

	i disagree. i don't think it's about control. it's about allowing.

| | what about both? i've met a number of practicing "psychics" who were
extremely controling people and seemed to approach everything in a
controling way, and then met others who were, on the contrary, very
allowing people (and maybe some who seemed to subscribe to a little of
    both approaches).

i agree; it's good not to feel limited. but i wonder about the brain
thing. if no one is using the full capacity of his brain, then who
is it who has the ability to measure what the full capacity is? i'm
uncertain whether measurements of electrical impulses and of movements
of cell juices says all there is to say about brain activity.

I was talking briefly with former Astronaut Edgar Mitchell last year,
and he has been doing consciousness research for the last 20 years or
    so since his moonwalk.

He said that when you get the 'left' and 'right' brain working
together, you have access to all the things we think of as 'psychic',
because it's all 'out there', and we just have to work at developing the
capability to access it. The brain is an incredible thing, and we only
use just a small fraction of its capabilities.

Meditation can facilitate this process of getting the brain hemispheres
working together, but the problem with meditation is that it often takes
a very long time. There are now techniques out that will shorten this
time considerably. He was working on using high-tech to make the
techniques easy to use. Apparently there are manual ones taught by a
company called Subliminal Dynamics, however it takes discipline to keep
at it. However they do work.

About this time last year, he was working on a book to talk about his
research...it may be published by now. May be worth a call to a
bookstore to see if it is out and available.

| | Do you know the title of the book?

I agree, allowing your self to open your mind. I think one must
first allow oneself to become open, and then learn the controlling
part. Anyone know of any really good books on this? I love to read this
    stuff...the non-fiction.

No, unfortunately I don't, Katy. I still have to check to see if
it's been published. When I spoke with him a year ago, he was actively
working with an editor at that time. So whether it's finished and
    available, I don't know.
