I need some feedback. Please help. Recently I purchased a book on the
Qabala to learn more about it. The book was from the Golden Dawn. A
week or so ago I was in a book store and while leafing through another
book on the subject I realized that some of the information was not
consistent with the Golden Dawn's book. In fact some of it was the exact
opposite for instance, the Tree of Life was exactly inverted ( the
right-hand pillar in the GD book was the left-hand pillar in the other
book). I thought that it could be due to plain carelessness until
Wednsday when my Tarot instructor mentioned that the founders of the
Golden Dawn had purposely mixed lies in with the truth so as to keep
their information secret. Has anyone else every heard this of the
Golden Dawn? I'd hate to think that I am wasting my free time learning
a bunch of garbage.

Tia,
Oh, yeah, there's a lot written about the Golden Dawn. (There is
always the possibility that the "Golden Dawn" you got your book from
is not the same one. Even if it says it is.)
For a very quick, first-pass try, look up "Aleister Crowley" in any
decent encyclopedia, and go from there. And do a
DIR/TITLE=DAWN *.*
or
SEARCH/NOTE=*.* "Golden Dawn"
in this conference.

Re.1
When using the tree of life on the human body the person
backs on to the tree. This means that the left shoulder is
at the head of the pillar of mercy, and the right shoulder
at the head of the pillar of severity.
Could it be the qliphotic tree as I am not sure if this
tree is a mirror image of the sephirothic tree,or laid
down diagonaly opposite ,eg. as in the relationship
between chokmah,geburah,netzach.
