| | Hi Pearl,

Sounds like a wonderful idea having visited Galway on several occasions
(vacations with relatives in the Aran Isles and in the Connamerra (sp)
area). I found the Irish people very open to new ideas (much more so
than the American-Irish Catholic relatives) and your store should do
    very well.

I can't help with information in the San Franscisco area, but if there
is any chance you'll be visiting the Boston area please contact me offline
and I will offer you any assistance I can.

    Best of 'luck' to you,

    Ro

I was wondering how you were doing!

I'm still here, in the S.F. Bay Area (the South Bay...about
40-50 miles from the city, itself.) How long are you remaining
where you are (to give time to receive information, etc.?)
Incidentally, there is a conference for California, etc. want ads
(THEBAY::ADS_WEST_COAST) which isn't very active but may help
    with these types of questions.

I wish you great success in your new adventures.

    Frederick

    Re .0

    Pearl,

Good luck on your new venture. Not all of us are forntunate or resolute
enough to go for what we say we want!
On more practical purposes, although I live in Southern California, I
have been to San Francisco enough to give you a few pointers, although
I thoroughly endorse Frederick's suggestion of the notes file he
    mentioned as a great source.
Rent: living in San Francisco can be a very expensive proposition, and
some of the areas in the city proper are less than safe, especially for
a woman and child. Try to connect with someone who knows the areas to
    stay away from.
Transportation: here's some good news. As opposed to the southern part
of the state, S.F. has excellent public transportation. With very few
exceptions, you should be able to stay here for some time without
hiring/buying a car unless you plan to do extensive touring. In fact,
givine the hilly nature of S.F. you may *never* want to drive yourself.
I know I drive as little as possible there, parking is also a problem.
Hope thes help. Another good thing, San Franciscans are among the most
tolerant people I have ever seen, so don't be afraid to be yourself.

    May God/Goddess/ATI light your path,

    Marilyn

| | I met Pearl the week before last...she is in San Francisco
for a couple more weeks. She seems to be okay although she has
had some difficulties (her "bag" was stolen and she lost her
passport, camera and a few other things, plus the bed and breakfast
place she was supposed to stay the whole time in is giving her
a hard time about duration of stay there.)
She has been planning to open Galway's first new age store when
she returns to Ireland and spent lots of time shopping at the
Whole Earth Expo which ran for three days in S.F. last week.
She has been planning to go to the Lazaris Intensive next week in
S.F., also, so if she does, I should see her there, again. I'll
be happy to pass along any info. from anyone.

I spoke with Pearl yesterday. She is still in San Francisco
and is still planning on attending the Lazaris Intensive starting
tomorrow morning. The only reason I'm entering another entry in
here is to say that she had the experience of someone turning her
"bag" in to the Irish Embassy (or is it a consulate?) She was
so thrilled with that that she decided to stay in S.F. another two
months (and is foregoing her previously purchased airplane ticket...)
Nice turn, eh? ("Hi," to *all* those in Ireland...;-) )

| | Frederick,
Good to hear news of Pearl and to hear that she is obviously
enjoying herself enough to stay another TWO months. Can you
remind her of all the preparation ahead of her to setup her
new shop when she returns........ anyhow good to hear the news.

If you see Pearl.... the shamism class is still going strong,
travelling to a new member's house each week. Eleanor has
got engaged!! and the fish are still alive.

    Regards,
    Dave

| | re: .8 (Dave)

Hi, Dave, whenever I see Pearl again or talk with her again
I will pass your messages on to her. Actually, I saw her each
day for each of the past four days (at the Lazaris Intensive.)
I asked her last evening if there was anything she'd like me to
pass on about the workshop (or anything else.) As for the
workshop, she said "It was wonderful." And I said, "is that
    it?" and she added "Amazing!"
Actually, I know she was heavily and deeply moved by all the
things we were learning/experiencing. During the "crystal ceremony"
when we each go up at random to get our crystals, when Pearl
got up to Lazaris she says that she was in so much awe that she
simply forgot to say anything (we're asked to give our first name
to Lazaris.) As Lazaris took her hands, he said "It's Pearl, is
it not?" (and then told her he loves her, as he frequently says
to others as he gives them their own "uniquely charged" crystal.)
The impact of that hit her later...there were over 500 people in
the room...Pearl had never been to him before (had never listened
to a tape or even read one of his books...she just felt drawn to
him) and as most of you might realize...while Lazaris is "coming
through" (the channeling) the channel's eyes are shut.
Pearl said she felt she got enough out of that workshop to last
her lifetime...at least the next year. ;-)
Incidentally, now Pearl is wavering on whether to stay her
indefinitely or to return to Ireland...who knows, if she doesn't?
She's definitely enjoying herself...I introduced her to Fred (Michael's
channel) and she is meeting others and learning/reaching/growing
    with fun and enthusiasm, too.

    Frederick
