Isn't it ST. Anthony you should be praying to? Sometimes it helps if
you can defocus your attention on the ring, and,it might suddenly come
    to you,where to look.

| | Maybe it is St. Anthony, but I always thought it was St. Jude. I
haven't been spending every waking moment or anything like that on this
ring, but I do think about it almost every day.

I've retraced my steps from the time I remember seeing it on my desk to
the time I realized I didn't have it, which was less than 24 hours. I
have no idea where it is. I just wish I knew whether or not I can ever
find it again. I mean, if I knew I dropped it in the ocean somewhere,
it's highly likely that I won't be seeing it again! Or if I knew
someone else was wearing it with no intent of finding it's rightful
    owner.

    Thanks for your reply.

| | T,
Your story reminds me of a ring I 'lost' many years ago. The ring was
very special to me as it was an engagement ring. My fiance and I were
in an automobile accident when I was 19 and he was killed, therefore
the ring had significance to me more than words can say. Later, when
I eventually married someone else, the ring disappeared. I think I
might have hidden it, although it could have been stolen as our
apartment at the time was broken in to.
I firmly believe that the ring will 'materialize' when I have removed
the psychological blocks I have around its disappearance, when I able
to 'let go' of whatever prevents me from finding it.
Just some thoughts...

    this be my problem?

Ro - I'm sorry to hear about your loss (es). I do believe that the
mind has a way of eliminating things, but hopefully your ring will
eventually materialize when you, and it's, ready to.

My ring was given to me by someone from a past relationship who has
since married, and we've remained friends. And I also happen to really
like the ring. I don't wear a lot of rings, but I always had this one
    on. I just liked it.

Once in a while, when I think about the ring, a picture will come in to
my mind of where the ring might be located. But I think those are just
places where I haven't thought of looking yet, and really isn't of any
    significance :-).

The "cosmic anchovy" was a name John Mitchell gave himself
in these files once. He has since left Digital and is supposedly
living somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area (to which he moved
from Seattle last year.) John Mitchell was the resident wise-guy
skeptic (very smart and also funny) who was an enigma from time

St. Anthony, St. Anthony, please come around
My ______________ is lost and has to be found.

She said to keep repeating this as often as necessary. I have not been

I have a friend who does not believe in saints but when she lost her

St. Jude is the saint of the impossible, when you feel that nothing in
the world can help you, that is the time to pray to St. Jude.
The prayer for St. Jude goes like this:

St. Jude, glorious apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus...
the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the
true church invokes you universally as the patron of things despaired
of. Pray for me who am so miserable, pray for me that finally I may
receive the consolations and succor of Heaven in all my necessities,
    tribulations and suffering, particularly ___________________________
And I will bless God with the elect throughout eternity, Amen.

| | Hey T ! Sorry to hear about your plight. Reminds me of my Mother
searching for her engagement ring a few years ago. After looking
for several days, she blurted out "Mom...where's my ring??! Can
you find it for me?!" I should note that my grandmother had been
dead a couple of years at this point.
Anyway, my mom goes into her bedroom and finds the ring on the
    table by her bed.
Now, my take is that her mind was not allowing her to see the ring,
even though it was there all the time. She wanted to believe that
my grandmother would find it for her. Once she got to the point
where she couldn't look any longer, she asked for help. Once she
did that, her mind allowed her to see it.
My suggestion to you (unless the ring got ripped) is to exhaust
all possibilities, get to a point where you NEED help finding it
and ask. It can be God, a saint, a departed relative or even a
cosmic sardine. If the ring is still around, you'll find it as
soon as you stop looking for it. It will pop up in a most obvious
    place.
Well, that's my opinion anyway. As a long time reader of this
conference, I'm sure you'll get as many suggestions on finding
your ring as there are cures for hiccups.

| | I took some earlier advice, and stopped thinking about the ring. I
haven't even been in this conference for a while. I opened up the
conference this morning, and was reading through some old topics for
quite a bit before I remembered about this note!

I have not found the ring. Yet. But I did see one I liked very much,
and placed an order for it. I should have it in about two weeks.

Something interesting about writing today. The person that gave me the
ring flew in to town from California last night, and is visiting for a
few days. (They don't know I lost the ring :-(.) And last night I
asked about the date for when I should expect the new ring to be
delivered. And this morning I decide to read DEJAVU. It seems that
some things are going to "come together" at some time, and I don't know
when, and I don't know what, but I'm looking forward to it.

And I will start thinking about visioning a place or a home for the
ring, when and if it appears. Or yelling at the top of my lungs for
help when I need it the most.

when I first noticed it missing!!

When I'm not at home, and I take off my jewelry, I always put it in my

M and T: you seem to be sensitive to each other. Now if you, M, are really
capable of "picking up" knowledge about the ring, then it could equally well
be T's knowledge of the ring, and T's ideas of where it could have been
left, as it could be the knowledge of the ring's *real* location.
So if you *are* working together, I would suggest to try and devise a way
where M will not be "side-tracked" by T's "imagination".

As for you 'M', I went with the hamper idea as soon as I got home. As
I mentioned, my hamper is usually at the bottom of my closet with all
my shoes. I got in the closet, and started taking out my shoes again
to see if it had fallen inside on of them. GET THIS. The brand name
of one of the first pairs of shoes I pick up, is "De-Ja-Voo". (Made in
Brazil.) Kinda coincidental, wouldn't_cha_say? BTW, these were not the
shoes I had on the day I lost the ring.

The hamper wasn't in the closet, but downstairs in the laundry room.
So I searched the room, and the washer and dryer inside and out.
No bites. Not even a nibble. Maybe I should try different bait?
