Has anyone heard anything about the "ghost" in the movie _Three
Men and a Baby_? The rumor as I heard it was that a child had died
in the apartment that the movie was filmed in and his ghost
can be seen in the movie. I watched the movie and sure enough
a small boy does show up in one of the scenes. It's definitely
not part of the story line or a scene where there should be any
extra's hanging around. It happens when Ted Danson's character
is speaking with his mother about the baby and as they walk
out of the room they pass a bathroom door. Standing in the doorway
is a little boy who looks to be about 9 with a very sad expression
as he watches the actors pass by.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had heard about this or
what the studio's may have had to say about it.

I saw that recently. The studio claims it's a bunch of baloney,
that it's just a cardboard cutout of a dancing man. Everyone
who has seen it says the poorly visible person looks to be a boy.
I saw a still of it and it's definitely a figure, but alive or
    on cardboard, who knows?

This is discussed in the MOVIES notes conference. Hit KP7 to add it
to your notebook then, once in the conference, do a DIR/TITLE="BABY".

| 1355.3 | it's kinda neat, when your heart skips a beat | CBROWN::CEANES | Laughter is a smile that exploded | Mon Sep 10 1990 11:28 | 6 |
| Thanks for the pointer Terry, I'll go look over there.

I'm sure there's probably nothing to it, but for that one split
second of goose bumps, it was pretty neat...

| 1355.4 | just plain fasinating! | LUDWIG::KETRON | Mon Oct 29 1990 08:09 | 26 | |
| It's been a long time since I've seen the movie, but I did view
it recently and I was quite shocked. Three is a long controversy
about it in the movies file, but the moderator said enough is enough.
I watched the scene very closely. One scene where Jack is talking
to his mother, she comes in and walks across the room with Jack.
They pass a windsow and you see an upside down rifle, or what looks
to me like a rifle. When they walk back the other way past the
window agian, you can clearly see the figure of a small boy standing
behind a curtain, partially behind a curtain, but you can see him
as plain as day. Later in the movie there is anouther scene where
there is a cardboard standup figure of Ted Dancy where he is wearing
a tux and top hat. These are two different scenes.

Now I don't necessarily believe in ghosts, but this really got my
curiosity going, so I watched it a couple of times. My question
to my husband after wathing this scene, is why the person shooting
that scene did not see the figure standing there and cut the scene
right then and there. Its so obvious that thrre is someone standing
there, how could they not see it??? And when the film was edidted,
why didn't someone see it??? Well, no matter what it is, I found
    it
fasinating! Please excuse the typing erros, but my terminal does
not like the backspace key for some reason!

If you have nothing better to watch or you are jhust curious like
me, check it out sometime. t
