    Kim,

Well, I can't really answer your question about your grandmother trying
to contact you, but I would guess that she probably isn't. She just
*appears* in the dream, and since her appearance horrifies you, why
would she keep inflicting this situation on you for three years? And
why would she wait a year after her death to begin appearing? It's
more likely that she's a dream figure and should be interpreted as
such. She could represent your grandmother or your grand *mother* or
perhaps even the mother(ly) aspect of yourself.

In addition to thinking about your relationship to your grandmother,
your mother, and yourself, think about what it is that horrifies you.
Do you think, for example, that your grandmother who has (in the dream)
returned from the dead wants to take you back with her? Or do you
think that when your grandmother died she was not actually dead - and
was therefore buried prematurely? Now, in the light of day, try to
imagine the dream situation; try to find out what it is that is fright-
ening you. Your grandmother appears. What does she want? What has
happened to her? Think of any other situations in which you've seen
dead people - perhaps as a child at a funeral - or living people who
have frightened you. Also try to recall any emotionally significant
events that occurred about the time you started having the dream; and
each time you dream it, look for a current situation that might have
    triggered the repetition.

If none of the above suggestions work, there are other techniques you
can try when you're having the dream.

    Good luck!

    Virginia

| Could it be that in the dream you get a feeling that you have accepted
and come to terms with her death and then when she appears to you
it's a great shock that you know this would be impossible seeing how
    she passed on?
once in a while I'll have a dream of a relative or friends that have
passed away then when you see them "alive" in your dreams it gives me
the creeps. but I always try to tune into what they say or try to
    convey.

| Kim,

Since the question of it being *your* mother possibly, did her
health condition change in any significant way when her mother
died? Can it be you are dealing with coping with this?

Thanks for the thoughtful insight. You have all given me alot to think
about...it never occured to me that the dreams may have something to
do with my mother/myself, and not soley my grandmother. I'll work on
the suggestions you gave me, and see if I can't figure this all out.
You've brought me one step closer...

    Kim
