| | I never tried taking a shower to wash off the residual ill effects
of a disagreement with some else before. Taking a shower with someone
to enjoy the *positive* residual effects...yes...8-)

But I am one of the few persons, who when I was a younger little
brat, annoying the hell out of my parents, and saying a few choice
cuss words in my fathers presence, had my mouth washed out with
    soap.

Boy that Lifebuoy soap tasted awful. It sure washed away alot more
than residual ill-effects, and I didn't need bubblegum to blow
    bubbles for a week. ;-)

| | I've heard something similar to that... I think that the shower
can aid in the visualization of cleansing energy/light. For example,
sometimes when I get really upset, I get in the shower and let
the water pour on me... As it pours on me, I visualize a "shower"
of blue light and repeat affirmations for serenity, balance, harmony,
etc. I will also visualize other color lights depending on what
my purpose is... (e.g. I'll use white and violet for overall
"cleansing", silver for protection, pink for self-love, etc.)

I sometimes do an aura-cleansing shower ritual. While standing under
the shower stream, I clear my mind through slow, rythmic breathing.

Once I've calmed down, I breathe deeply through the root chakra,
hold the breath for a few moments at the heart chakra (remembering
that god is found in between the breaths), then expell the breath
through the crown chakra, allowing the shower stream to push the
energy down from my head and over my body.

During this process I visualize my aura being cleansed and purified
by the energy/water; I imagine chunks of black crud being washed
away from it. After a time, my aura becomes its normal vibrant,
    electric green.

    Very refreshing.

| | Joe, I agree with Linda that the shower is a good place to be
alone (maybe ;-)) and uninterrupted. Also, many people view
water as a symbolization of emotions, so perhaps the physical
act of allowing warm water to run down your body then down a
drain helps whatever is bothering you inside to do the same.

    	Certainly couldn't hurt! =8-)

Actually, being *that* clean may not be to his sexual
advantage. It all depends on the tastes of the eater. I
recall that Napolean (of Bonaparte fame) wrote to Josephine
once and (paraphrasing) said "I'll be home in two weeks, don't
    bathe."

Bathing can be a symbolic act. Thus, accumulated stuff [troubles,
negativity, etc.] can be removed symbolically even as oils, grime,
and other physical soil is removed corporeally.

| | O.K. I have a question, and it is somewhat of a serious natured
    one.

You wash off all this negativity and subtle cosmic grime in a
symbolic act or ritual in your shower..O.K.? Where does all
    this negativity go from there?

Is this Biodegradable Cosmic Grime, that breaks down and washes
    away for ever?

Or does it go to some symbolic toxic waste disposal dump somewhere?

    You know what I'm saying?

Energy is just energy; it dissipates into the cosmos.

Ritual bathing is quite common in many cultures, isn't it? I'm thinking
particularly of the Christian baptism and the Hebrew _mikvah_.

| | Just to add a potentially superfluous comment: I suppose all of you know the
*physical* effects of bathing/showering in that it takes/binds the negative
ions? When people say they feel more positive after a shower, this is
*literally* true!

Hmmmm, I dont know which ions are which now...

One aspect of this that I've noticed (by accident) is that symmetry
must be respected if one is to come out feeling balanced. For example,
if I only washed one foot, the other would seem to feel "extremely
jealous" and *I'd* feel very out of balance for the day as a result.

| | Art and Linda,

I too have a small ritual that I use to transform any negative energies
into positive energies, also. Art, I too wondered what happened to
the gook that might come off my psyche/soul, and was as uncomfortable
with the pat answers that it did no harm to anyone or anything as
I was with the same assurances about the physical realm (and we now
    know just how dangerous that assumption is for the physical realm;
Perry's analogy holds true here, too -- the physical realm doesn't
care what chemicals we create -- but we sure should or we'll deal
    ourselves out of the game).
So it made sense to me that if I was going to bathe away negativity,
I had to invent a conversion process, if you will, that turned psychic
garbage into psychi fertilizer. Every time I bathe with psychic
cleansing in mind, I use it.

Lazaris mentioned at the session that 1989 would be a good year
to get back in touch with the earth elements, even if it is only
one of them. Showering is one way to get in touch with water,
provided you are showering with this purpose in mind (as opposed
    to the routine stumbling_out_of_bed_and_into_the_shower kind).

    Arthur,

Um...well, no, Lazaris didn't mention vodka. (;^) One funny thing
he did mention though was that we should get into the habit of
discipline with regard to living, eating, etc., even if it is just
    Domino's pizza and beer.

    *Slight hesitation*

    ...light. (Beer) Audience laughter here.

But one thing he did mention during the evening that only 3
of the 4 earthquakes predicted last year actually happened. Then
I woke up the next day to hear the news of the quake in Armenia.....
I sort of stopped in my tracks when I heard that.
