| | The search for forgotten lore, wisdom and the Holy Grail has
    been around since time immemorial.

New Age, Old Age, Yuppies, Puppies and Guppies do not negate
the fact that there is Truth to be gained from meditation,
    research and experimentation.

The following lyrics from "Jesus Christ Superstar" sums up
    the predicament:

(Judas singing) "If you'd come today you'd have reached a whole nation,
Israel in 4 B.C. had no mass communication..."

We have reached a crossroads in civilization where our material
cravings have certainly dulled the inner desire in most of us
to realize that we are but a creation, not the Creator(s).

It is the hope and dream of every Searcher that we will one day
take our place in the universe as a Co-creator. This will NEVER
come about as long as we allow our egos to stand in the way.

Remember the magic of discovery as a child ? That's what it's
    REALLY all about . . .

| | There has been a dramatic increase in media coverage of the "New
Age" since the Harmonic Convergence. So much hoopla was made by
non-believers during that time, drawing mass attention (unwanted
or wanted?) to peoples' beliefs and practices. Press coverage I
have seen at the national level regarding New Age beliefs (post-
HC) has been mostly skeptical -- our local paper maintained a re-
latively unbiased view but still tended to photograph people who
dressed a little funkier than societal norm and preferred to int-
erview those with extremely liberal views. Wonder what the local
reaction would be to learn that one of our more prominent district
court judges gave a one-hour talk on female Goddess power during
the HC? More controversial than smoking pot??? =8*)
But because of the strong coverage several months ago there's now
a growing awareness and understanding of the New Age and of *how
many people* espouse variations of multitudinous beliefs. The
growing popularity of New Age music is indisputable, there's an
increase in "coming out of the spiritual closet" by a number of
famous people (and non-famous people) which has turned a few im-
pressionable heads, and maybe, just *maybe* there is a growing
desire to pursue "more than what I'm getting from my religion."
I've seen this in my own non-DEJAVU friends and even glimpses of
it in my strongly religious family.
Publishers, producers, writers, recording artists, newspapers,
talkshow hosts, etc., have either latched onto this "fad" (not
my word) or are becoming more comfortable in expressing their own
beliefs. ("Hey! There are a lot of people who want more of this
stuff! Let's give it to 'em!") That's not to say their products
are bogus or even poorly researched, although some certainly are.
It's also not to say they're trying to only reach the people who
are (I'm not sure how to phrase this) liable to be a DEJAVU'er.
There are a lot of curious lookey-loo's who think there *may* be
something, however minute, to all this but want to wait and listen
for a bit. The people who wonder if DEJAVU type of people have
green blood and can levitate on command. (Guess you should have
been at our party to find out, John!!)
This should probably go in the Prophecies topic, but I predict
there will be even MORE media coverage of crystals, channeling,
New Age gatherings, Tarot cards, mystical powers, Ouija boards,
and meditational techniques in the coming years. It may even
help some people out on their journey...
