| | Apparently, "It's a joke, son."

[For the younger readers, this was a famous line on the Fred Allen
radio show, spoken weekly by Senator Claghorn.]

think of a notice to add to this file and that one came to me.

| | I have never replied to this file, but have had a fascination with
the subjects contained for a great many years. (I must sound ancient.)
Can anyone direct me to an excellent tarot card reader near Lowell,
Chelmsford area? Does anyone have any information on an upcoming
Psychic Fair, that I might go to.? Could you respond directly to
    me,
via the net, at HYSTER::REILLY I would appreciate it, and Thanks.!

For the moderately younger readers, the character of Foghorn Leghorn
in the Warner Brothers cartoons is based on Senator Claghorn.
Interestingly enough, the voice of Foghorn Leghorn is done by Mel
Blanc who was also one of Jack Benny's regulars. The rivalry between
Benny and Allen was a frequent source of humor on both of their
    programs.

Topher, Mel Blanc does many voices on the cartoons, but the original
person who did the Senator Claghorn character was Kenny Delmar, who
also does some of the cartoon voices. Mel Blanc was the railroad
conductor who,did the Train leaving on track nine for Anahiem and
Cookamonga{sp} bit on the Benny Show,he was also the sound effects
behind the Maxwell touring car that Benny had.
