| 229.1 | You've already helped more than you know | AKOV68::FRETTS |  | Wed Oct 22 1986 12:13 | 21 |
| | Hi Vivian,

There must be something about your energy that attracted Grandpa
to you. Being a member of the family is important, and the ring was a
good focal point and acted as an initial attention getter. Grandpa
was right - the best thing you can do for him is to pray and to
encourage him to allow those in spirit who are concerned and care
for him to get closer and guide him along. I'm sure that there
are many spirit friends who would be eager to assist him.

I think the power of prayer is underestimated. Directed positive
thought definitely has an effect. So many troubled spirits could
be helped tremendously by a prayer being sent their way. I for
one will remember your grandmother and "grandpa" in my prayers.

If you would like some assistance or guidance, I can recommend
someone that you could call. Let me know and I'll send the info
    via mail.

    Regards, Carole

I would be interested in hearing of your other experiences. You
must have quite a healing energy about you if spirit is attracted
    to you for assistance.

| | If no one minds my asking this question, how does a spirit (I
won'task what a spirit is exactly) get "trapped" between dimensional
    planes?

I have heard that one way is if a person dies suddenly in a
traumatic accident - it's as if his/her spirit is knocked out of
their body so "fast", that the person does not know they are physically
dead. Is this what happened to your grandfather, or was he "misdirected"
like the spirits in POLTERGEIST were (I'm just citing an example)?

| | I'm not really sure about grandpa, I never got to even meet #7.
I also don't know how he died. My grandma was a wild woman and
liked to keep secrets regarding her husbands. Grandma died a
couple of months ago, and no one has seen, felt her around since.
But she was so mad at life leaving, that I think that she was
happy to leave with no regrets or needs. She always told me that
death would be the ultimate "get even" for them jerks who won't
leave you alone to live your life as you see fit. You have to
realize that she was a mountain woman who was married the first
time at 14. I saw a movie about Annie Oakley and she reminded
me of grandma. All spit and vinigar.

I do know that when my brother died in a tramatic accident, he
kept coming back and pointing out particular items for me to do.
One of them was to please contact the love of his life who had
moved to Arizona. when I contacted her, he didn't appear as
often or nearly as clearly. He still appears occasionaly when
terrible times are happening, mostly to give comfort. I never
know when he is going to be there or how long, but I feel
strongly that God is letting him visit to insure that the
family is ok. I get the strong impression that he doesn't
want to leave us entirely yet. (My cat has even seen him).
It has been 6 years since my brother died.

I do think that being in a coma, would be like sleeping, and
when death comes, the spirit is confused. Its like the steps
of healing after a death of a loved one, first you deny the
loss, then you're so angry at the waste. I know the last step
is acceptance. I think spirits go through the same steps.
(I am missing a few of the steps of grieving,I can't remember
    them all)

It seems the spirits that are around me are very benevolent.
I have three protective spirits around me all the time, where
ever I go. They warn me when something is going to happen,
and assure me when I'm scared. I have had friends who are
mediums say they see them, that they are quite visible and
the feelings they get are kind. They even scratch my cat.
    (kitty can't be all wrong)

    >..when death comes, the spirit is confused. ...

In ancient Egypt (Khem), where there was a belief that each person
had more than one spirit, when death approached, the priests read
to the dieing person out of _The Book of the Dead_. This was a
book that helped the basic soul (the Ba) transution to Tuat (the
abode of the dead). It's an interesting read, since it takes the
reader (presumably the listener) through all he or she would experience
on the way. The idea was to help minimize the confusion of the
spirit at the onset of death.

I too have gone to mediums who have seen my spirit teachers and
friends, and they have also seen the spirits of my kitty friends
who have passed over. One particular teacher has taken them into
her care. This was very comforting as I was very concerned about
their welfare, particularly little Sammy who was only one and a
half years old when he died. Sammy never realized he wasn't a
baby anymore and he really needed a lot of mothering and attention.
He was so sweet...I'm sure my spirit friends have been as touched
    by him as I was.

| 229.11 | <not sure> | WATNEY::SPARROW | Vivian Sparrow | Tue Oct 28 1986 12:48 | 29 |
| | I really don't know. I have very rarely met people with
the same perception for seeing "others". I don't talk about
it too often when I see them, I let others mention it first.
If I am in a strange house and there are "others" there, I
get a feeling of cold, stuffiness in my head, my heart beats
very fast. Depending on the presenses attitude (for lack of
a better word) I am comfortable, or scared. If its the latter
I don't stay long. I don't mention the presense to people who
don't know me, especially if they are comfortable there.
Once I went to a party, walked in, got THE feelings, walked
around the house till I located the source, and ran! Later
when talking to some friends who knew the people who lived
there, found out that they were heavily into black magic
and strong worshipers of the devil. I have a severe aversion
to evil. I stay away with strong determination from people
like that. They disrupt my inner peace tremendously. Ever
see someone go into fits around someone they just met?
Like trembling, stuttering, headaches almost lose control
of themselves? Thats what happens to me when I am around
evil. But I'm not sure how others react.
Don't know why I've got this sense, I have been close to
death a few times, maybe it leaked over into my life, maybe
I saw more then I consciously remember and it makes me more
    aware.
    Any ideas?

| 229.13 | planetary energy pointer | AKOV68::FRETTS |  | Tue Oct 28 1986 14:23 | 18 |
| | Being an astrology student, and also having sat in circle for
mediumship development, I became interested in the possibility
of common natal chart characteristics and began checking the charts
of those people that I know who are "sensitives". What seems to come
up in the charts quite often is a) emphasis of the water
element (signs and/or houses), b) Neptune aspects to other planets
especially Mercury (mind), Mars and Sun (physical body), c)Neptune in
the 6th house and possibly the second (both these houses involve the
physical body to an extent), d) Neptune in aspect to the angles
    (ascendant, descendant, nadir, and midheaven).

Anyone else have any insights regarding sensitivity and the birth
    chart?

| 229.14 | PSYCHOMETRY | BRAT::WALLIS |  | Tue Oct 28 1986 21:25 | 45 |
| | It sounds like you experienced something called Psychometry. Nothing is
ever lost , experience is held in all things and some people are sensitive
enough to pick up the hidden vibrations and impressions, organize them
and bring them into their waking consciousness. These people are called
'Psychometrists'. The word is derived from two Greek words, psyche, meaning
'the soul', and metron, signifying a 'measure'. By this definition, Psychometry
is the power to measure and interpret 'the soul of things'.

There's a nice little book from which I took this definition; called
How to develop Psychometry, by W.E. Butler - printed by samuel
weiser inc. The information is basic and easy to understand.
re .6
Some people who posses the 'sixth sense' can communicate with those in
comas and say that it is a place of limbo; a place where one stays until
they make the decision to return to physical life or return to spirit.
It is a time of conflict which drives some individuals in comas to
such a point of indecision that they literally become immobile. Not
necessarily unconscious at the subtle levels. These 'sensitives' report
communicating with those in the coma and helping them resolve the
issues to a point of decision. Apparently we all need contact, no matter
what state we're in. Some believe that accidents, sickness etc. are used by
individuals to provide the vehicles for them to go into coma.
Lora
an afterthought:
A nice meditation to help discarnates is to center and protect oneself;
ask that the person in question be surrounded in a sphere of pure white
light and call in their highest guidance to align, protect, guide and
heal them. Ask that they be released and returned to their highest source
and that the best be done for all concerned. If you have the ability it's
always faster to contact them directly and bring assistance that way. I
don't, however, recommend it to those who aren't knowledgeable in such matters.
When dealing with the mind and these energies, intelligence and caution
should be top priorities.

I also study astrology as my main esoteric discipline and have had
the pleasure to cast charts for many active in the DEJAVU community.
I have also noticed a lot of Neptune energy associated with the
people who are sensitive. Neptune/Mercury contacts do seem to assist
in conscious perception of otherworldly energies. Other interesting
factors that crop up have to do with strong Saturns and Plutos in
people's charts, especially when they contact Neptune. I am theorizing
that Neptune enhances a person's sensitivity, Pluto enables one
to channel and use power, Saturn makes it easier to manifest the
esoteric on the material plane (and also provides invaluable grounding
    assistance).

Neptune may not be directly involved, by which I mean the aspects
you describe in your reply--to Sun, Moon, Mercury, chart angles,
etc. It may be the chart ruler; this is the case if the sign Pisces
rises in your birth chart. And one of the most sensitive people
I know has Pisces as the chart signature. As a result, this person
began developing somewhat later than some (who have felt their talents
since childhood) and has had to cope with very interesting and
    confusing feelings.

A side note for those of you who are interested: the birth chart
signature can be derived by finding the principle ELEMENT (Fire,
Earth, Air, Water) and QUALITY (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable) that your
planets reside in. I can illustrate with an example from my own
    nativity:

    	Sun in Capricorn Cardinal	Earth
    	Moon in Taurus Fixed Earth
    	Mercury in Capricorn Cardinal	Earth
    	Venus in Aquarius Fixed Air
    	Mars in Aquarius Fixed Air
    	Jupiter in Pisces Mutable Water
    	Saturn in Libra Cardinal	Air
    	Uranus in Cancer Cardinal	Water
    	Neptune in Libra Cardinal	Air
    	Pluto in Leo Fixed Fire

The most frequently occurring Element is Air; the most frequent
Quality is Cardinal. The Cardinal Air sign is Libra; that is my
    chart signature.

| | re .16
There can be several reasons for your discomfort; to name a few:
o the delta between your personal vibrations and the
spirit may be so great that it creates the fight/flight
response accompanying things outside your comfort zone

o the dis-comfort may the the 'spirit's' and not yours
o the 'spirit' may in fact be 'neg.' - according to your inner
          definition of negative
o you could be you contracting in the face of something you
are in conflict about.....deal with it or not kind of thing
o it could be a psychological defense mechanism to detach for
	  from a non-spirit problem - i.e. make it supernatural and I
          don't own it.....(I doubt that's what's going on here)
< should this be overcome?
When dealing with mind matters I strongly suggest you follow your own knowing
and not be swayed by others opinion. How we deal with this kind of thing is
highly personal and it's important to do what WE know is right for us...and
we always know altho we don't always want to face our truth. I suggest you
look at the fact that you are aware of something there; that it's there for a
reason and make a clear choice to become more knowledgeable (follow the lead)
or leave it alone. Be sure there's a message for you somewhere in the
experience.
Good luck
Lora
