| | Maybe some of the contributors to this file have already contacted
you, but some of the personal experiences people have had are in
Notes 22, 56 and 107. There are also items in many of the notes
on dreaming and meditation/relaxation/expanded consciousness that
touch on people's experiences on being outside of yourself. You
can read our accounts and decide who you might want to contact (if
    they've not already contacted you).

| 125.2 | Hints for OOBEs | GALACH::MORGAN | Protector of all good mice. | Thu May 08 1986 19:58 | 33 |
| | Astral Projection is a very complicated affair that can only be
worked out by the right side of the brain if you can catch my drift.
It seems that the only way to learn it is to "want it real bad",and
then work at the emotional challenges it presents as it presents
    itself.

I would like to present a few hints.

o	It may be best to let you inner-self present it through the
dream state. This has the advantage of being very easy and
the disadvantage that it developes no discilpine.
o	Don't fear the "body lockup". That always happens in the sleep
        state anyway.
o	You may feel the initial rythmes of your body as you proceed.
If you do so please don't think that you are under attack.

o	It is very much proven that you will only have an OOBE/Projection
if you allow yourself to. The belief system is vitaly important
        here.

o	There is a difference between the "dream body" and the the "etheric
body". The dream body seems to be the astral portion and the
etheric is very heavy and fully developed etheric portion. (I
        invite comment on this.)
I assure you that it exists, it is very hard to control, can be
scarey and wonderful, has little applcation to normal life except
to prove that we are more than our physical bodies, and generates
    more questions then it answers.
                                 (*)

| | I was wondering if anyone would be willing to send me any
mail/pointers/hints on Astral Travelling - I've gotten close, but
still can't seem to have the correct state of mind, or maybe don't
even use the correct technique(s). Any visualization techniques,
practices, etc. that any one would like to share? It would be
    greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Rich.

| | I know a man who's wife devorced him because of his Astral Projections.
He had an experience during a weekend retreat where he met himself
Literally), and a "mentor" during his meditations.

His wife actually divorced him, because things like what I'll describe
would happen quite freqently, and she just couldn't handle it.

She would wake up in the morning, crawl out of bed, tell him to
get up (he was still in bed), and then go into the kitchen to find
him ALSO fixing breakfast. His Astral projections were very real
    and very solid!

Or she would go to use the bathroom in the morning, find it occupied
by him, and then ALSO find him dressing himself in the bedroom!

He is a very intelligent man, has numerous degrees, has been a teacher,
a lawyer and a private investigator among other things.

Would have loved to read the transcripts of that court case!

Do you have references to this? What is the court case number, which
state? Where did you find this? I'd like to read it.

Note many (most?) states have "no-fault" divorce. If neither party
contests, than either spouse may file papers (signed by both) stating
that they both wish a divorce. After an appropriate period (frequently
longer than for "fault") if neither party has told the court that
they have changed their mind the divorce goes through. Depending
on the state, it may get more complicated when children and/or property
    is involved.

In this case, the divorce case would not mention any reason beyond
    incompatablility.

Even without no-fault divorce, the court dockets frequently don't
report the "real" reason for divorce if neither party wishes it.
In the old days, when there were few legally acceptable reasons
for divorce, there were "professional co-respondents" who would,
for a fee, spend whatever time was legally required in a bedroom
necessary to establish "adultary". Since it was known that this
was a legal fiction involving no hanky-panky there was no social
onus to this, and consenting spouses could get a divorce for whatever
reason they wanted. (There is a Fred Astair (/Ginger Rogers?) movie
about this strage custom. Is it called The Gay Divorcee?).

In other words, I wouldn't bet on that reason appearing in court
records, even if that *was* the real reason.

It sounds like a great talent, which she could have exploited.

She: Get up. It's time to fix breakfast.
He (not moving an inch out of bed): Relax. I'm taking care of it.

When my cats hassle me in the morning for food, I'd love to be able
    to do something similar.

What on earth could an astral projection of a person be doing in
the bathroom? [The mind, as it were, boggles. :-)]

| 125.14 | I actually had an Experience | TYCOBB::TPSEC | Lynne S...Noting BIG TIME! | Wed Mar 01 1989 08:10 | 29 |
| | Yes....I can honestly say I had an Astral Projection experience,
because it is an experience that I will NEVER forgot, because it
scared me so much. It happened in 1981 when I was a High School
Senior, I went to sleep that night, lying on my back...when all
of a sudden I felt this sensation of millions of "electrical volts"
going through my body...all of a sudden I am flying around my bedroom
at a very fast speed, I could feel the wind in my face, going through
my hair, and was very concious of the objects that were in my room
(which were in the same place as I left them in real life)...next
I am in my parent's bedroom trying to tell them that I am having
a bad dream and I want it to stop, but I could not make any voice
contact....next thing I get the sensation that I am falling.......
then I wake up. Well I was sooo frightened that I ran to the bathroom
and splashed water all over my face. The next day I went to school
and told a friend, and he said "It was just a bad dream, Lynne".

Well weeks went by and it was still in my head, so I got a book
on dreams from the library, and read up on astral projection..which
the symthoms of it were identical to my dream. They say when your
soul leaves your body, you feel a sensation of electricity leaving
your body, you fly..from your room, to far away places...you remember
distinct landmarks....cant make any voice contact with anyone....and
when your soul goes back into your body, you feel like you are falling.

I will always remember that "dream" because it was incredible,
and up to this day (it happened eight years ago) I will not fall
    asleep on my back.

                                      Lynne S.
