| | Well, there have been mucho comments on Dorsett over the years,
both good and bad. But, overall, the guy could plain run!

I don't care if you go out of bounds to avoid a tackle, or if you
run right at a middle linebacker. Do whatever you do best, and
that's what he did for a long time. I'm no Cowboy fan, nor am I
a detracter of them. I don't have any personal likes or dislikes
on Tony, either. I just always felt he was a player.

Had an outstanding pro career, but I'll always remember him for
    his college days.

    Tim,
No, he isn't really graspin'. It was the paper that made claim, though.
Before last year's Super Bowl that trivia question they have in the
paper every day had this one, "What three players represent the Denver
Broncos in the Pro Football Hall of Fame?". I thought to myself, "self,
there aren't any", which is true. The paper's answer was Willie Brown,
who played for Denver for a couple of years in the early '60s before he
went on to stardom with the RAIDERS, Denver's old GM that was there for
exactly one (1) year. He came over from the Rams where he had been
their GM forever. I don't remember who the 3rd one was off hand but he
also did not get his fame in Denver. I was amazed they would make the
claim that these people were there "representing Denver". No way Jose.

| | I hope he doesn't have a Bronco jersey in Canton. He was a true
Cowboy, and thus should stay that way!! I think Mecklenberg will be
the 1st true Bronco to make it. Maybe Floyd Little, who did know how
    to run without an o-line.

I never have liked Dallas, but Tony did impress me over all the
    years, including his Pitt days.

| | Well, looks like TD is comming out of retirement. He says his knee has
heeled completely and he feels good. He's been working out at the
Cowboys training facility, and ofcourse you all know that "Hawk" has
always been in tip-top shape, year in and year out.

Myself and a few friends went up to Greeley in '88 to watch him work
out and kick his forties,...maaannnnnn, at 34 years of age he was
still bustin' a 4.37 point forty. Obviously he is my favorite all-
time football player. He's always been able to back up his
"woofin'" and at 5'10" 189, you could get killed out there. But
besides the knee injury, the only thing that ever got close to
him in all his years was that nasty mirror he broke over his toe
    in '82 I believe.

He wants to play for the Jints or Phili now. He's still one of the
top backs,...if you give him the ball....Dan Reeves!!! But you
know how Elway cries in his beer(s).

Let's see who he makes a fool out of next...

| | A few words about Tony:

    - he needs to play for a team with real grass so that at least
half his games he doesn't take the pounding of the carpet.

    - he has always wanted to play for Pittsburgh (obviously), and
has gone so far as to walk up to Noll and say, "bring me home,
      Chuck."

    - I think he just want one more good year so he can go out
winning (even if its just personal victories). I don't think
      he can do it.

    - he is one of the top 5 running backs of all time.

| | I've always liked and admired Tony Dorsett. You could be sure that
everytime he touches the ball, there's excitement to follow. And now,
to see that he's also nicknamed "Hawk", well, that takes the cake!
Unless of course "....Hawk is in great shape...." was really about me,
then I must humbly offer a "thank you"! :-)
