Oh yeah - mandatory RR stuff, in case no one else has reported it: last Friday
the 16th, I noticed for the first time since the "flood" last year, there was a
working signal at the entrance (westbound) to Kenmore Station!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is this a big deal, he asks?? 'Cuz they're STILL (last I rode it) running
with flashing red warning-lights (like you see on sawhorses at construction
sites) between Kenmore Station and the next stop in-bound, that being Hynes Con-
vention Ctr. (or more accurately for those who REALLY know where Rt 128 is!),
a.k.a. Auditorium (from long ago). If you have ridden one of the "in the street"
branches of the Green Line (Cleveland Circle, Boston College, or the old Arbor-
way/Heath St.), and had to wait for the trolley to stop for traffic, you can ap-
preciate all the stopping & starting while you try and hang onto the straps....
but NEVER BEFORE have you had to do this inside the tunnels!!!!
Talk about your basic aggravating.... and no one I asked, knew when the
signals would be coming back to life. No idea why they're still not fixed after
all this time, either...cripes, the wiring's GOT to be done over by NOW...they
have the lights back...
