3736.0. "TLZ07, VMS 5.5-2 "dies"" by SCOVAX::BARBER () Fri Apr 25 1997 22:31
     Help!!
We have a customer with a VAX 4000-100 running VMS 5.5-2, has a
    TLZ07
tape drive that will run backups, but when a listing of the tape
    isdone
afterwords it fails (at different points in the backup listing).

I don't have a copy of the errorlog yet, but here is a history:

        Tape drive cahnged 3 times

        4000 motherboard changed

latest tlz07 firmware, rev c loaded

        new tapes tried

4 VMS patches have been applied:

            VMSBACK05_U2055
            VMSSYSL18_U2055
            VAXDISM01_U2055
            VAXSCSI03_061

Bus has been shortened to only tlz07 on it.

This site was running for three years prior. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. ( I will cross-post this in STOAGE notes)

How does it fail? Does BACKUP produce an error message? Does it happen
    with certain save sets only?
