    What does the following mean ... DEC is mentioned with STRONG
    companies (Looks like a positive for DEC) ...

| 433.11 | A narrow index? | CHEFS::MACLEOD |  | Mon Feb 03 1997 04:30 | 9 |
|  |
It looks a very narrow index, no Sun, no Compaq, no HP and no Oracle. Notice
that they are European-Style (Can't be exercised before expiry 30 Jan 1998).
What happens to the index if one of those companies isn't around in a years
time?
Still it will be interesting to see what the price will be at expiry.

| 433.12 | GY is the target ... | RTOEU::KPLUSZYNSKI | Arrived... | Mon Feb 03 1997 06:58 | 15 |
| | Note that these are traded on German exchanges only. The offer is
    targeted at the german warrants market, which is a little
    complicated and very clever in inventing new styles of warrants.
    Not always to the advantage of the private investor.

    Citibank is in fact the market leader in this segment here in GY. They
    even run their own computerized trading system (CATS-OS) which of
    course lists only Citibank warrants :-)

    I've noticed, that whenever a new warrant comes out based on some
    self-made index, they try to mix perceived winners with loosers, so
    that in fact the probability of the index moving in one direction is
    minimized.

|  |      >>mix perceived winners with loosers

    So what you are trying to tell us is, Digital is a perceived winner,
    right ?
 |
| 433.14 | No implication ... | RTOEU::KPLUSZYNSKI | Arrived... | Tue Feb 04 1997 04:29 | 7 |
|  |     re .-1:

    I'm not implying anything about Digital. Just the fact that
    these self-constructed indicies are not necessarily reflecting a
    meaningful market segment.
