6726.0. "CIXCD time-outs" by CSC32::F_MUELLER () Wed May 28 1997 11:43
    Here's a weird one for you.

    I have a customer who has a VAX7000 with 2 CIXCD's plus 2 e-net
    controllers. Occasionally PAB0 would start logging VC time-outs
    and eventually there would be a maitenance/sanity timer experation for
    both CIXCD's.

    The question is: Does the maintenance/sanity timer get reset every
    time there is activity on the board, or is there a seperate "process"
    (not vms) that resets it? I believe that the timer reset is done
    seperately, but the customer thinks that it's reset everytime that the
    module talks to VMS. Because of this, he believes that the timer
    experations that he's experiencing are caused by another device on the
    bus.  Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Frank Mueller
