	I have a customer problem on a Prioris running NT V4.0 with SP2 and
	MS SQL V6.5 with SP2.  He has 14 RZ29's and a 55gb database.  The
	problem is that the customer is using SQL to dump his 55gb database
	from within SQL and the database fills the tape, the tape rewinds, and
	SQL begins writing over the previously recorded data.  It doesn't 
	do an unload at the end of the tape.  The tape drive being used in a
	TZ87 with firmware 9B3C.  Has anyone run across a problem like this?

	If the application doesn't do a SCSI Unload as part of its rewind, then the drive is behaving as expected. If the application does include a SCSI Unload, then something is wrong...

It rewound the tape and started writing. At this point I suspect a problem with hardware. Bill Duncan

	Don't be so sure.. As Alan said the app HAS TO do an unload. Some drives do this automatically some don't. The DLT family is the later. It's up to the APP to make sure the tape has/hasn't been swapped. roger.

	The TZ87 has been tested and works with Windows NT Backup. If this drive is having trouble it is broken. Steve Peters

	Backup driver assumes that the drive will spindown. There is a bit that can be set to do this but DIGITAL DLT tape drive doesn't set this bit. We've gone thru this drill before. T.
