I have a customer with an Alpha 2100. They are using a graphics head
as console. They currently have a modem attached to the top serial
port (TTA0) and want to connect a modem to the bottom serial port.
OPA1 for the purpose of using DSNLink. Can they do this? Are there any
security problems with using a modem on this port, OPA1?

    thanks,
    Ross

| MVBLAB::SABLE is the Sable (2000, 2100 series) notes conference. No, there should be no "unique" problems on OPA1: beyond the standard security warnings around having a modem (potentially) accessable for dial-in. Off the top, I don't know if this port has modem control -- if it doesn't, that means some custom modem settings and/or some custom cabling. And more security exposure. | |||||
