I have both RZ28cs and RZ26ls behaving the same way. The drives
work fine on Digital UNIX, but when I tried to migrate them over to
NT (4.0), the drives never become fully ready.

what kind of controller? The unix system may spin em up, and the
NT/Controller wont.
just a thought.
