| He's back... 8^}
My '82 Celebrity 4 cyl 2.5L has something I've noticed recently: there
is a small panel on the engine block right above the timing chain
cover. It is held onto the block by 4 bolts, and, based on
illustrations in my manuals, apparently covers a circular passage into
the block.
Every so often, it weeps a little antifreeze.
I can find no reference to the appropriate servicing/sealing of this
panel. Do I gather it covers the end of a coolant passage in the
block? How would I then attempt to seal it? I assume I'd have to
remove the panel (dumping some antifreeze), put some type sealant
substance on the edges, replace the panel and retorque the bolts.
What type of sealant would be appropriate? Are there any "gotchas"
that I should be aware of for this?

| I have an 87 wagon with a 2.8 that has a reoccuring ignition problem.
It started missing on #2 then #5 started missing. I troubleshot the
problem down to a bad Ignition control unit (or whatever that thing
under the coils is called) when this occured last November. But it has
started again on the same 2 cylinders. I was just curious if there is
a known problem with these units. Otherwise I'll assume that the coil
for 2 & 5 may be "eating" the control module.
