Hi! Questions about DEC/EDI from a EDI-partner in Sweden waiting to get on the next training event. Kjell Karlsson NSIS Sweden 1. Is it possible to set the interchange reference (UNB/0020) from the application file instead of from DEC/EDI? 2. Is it possible to set the message reference (UNH/0062) from the application file instead of from DEC/EDI? 3. How does DEC/EDI handle the CONTRL-message (EDIFACT)? Can DEC/EDI match the incoming CONTRL-message to the interchange that it is responding to? What kind of error messages are there? I would be grateful for quick responses! Regards, Eva Appelqvist, EDIMatrix [email protected]

For DEC/EDI V3.2, there will be support for the CONTRL message.
There will be support for reconsiliation between the incoming
CONTRL message with the messages (interchange) is it responding to.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by the `kind of error messages'.
Are you asking what type of errors (syntax error codes) will be
reported by DEC/EDI in outgoing CONTRL messages? Or are you
asking how incoming CONTRL messages will report errors?
I'm currently implementing the CONTRL message into V3.2. I'd
appreciate any information (requirements) what customers may need
from DEC/EDI to support the CONTRL message. Also, the version(s)
of the CONTRL message they are thinking of using.
Current versions of DEC/EDI (Pre-V3.2) do not provide support
for the CONTRL message. However, there are call-out routines
that can be used to provide a very basic level of support.
I suggest you contact Finn Christensen. He has already
provided a solution of this type to his customers and he
can provide you with the details.
If Eva Appelqvist would like to contact me directly, she
can send email to [email protected]

David... We've had requests from customers for a couple years for CONTRL to operate like FAs, and I assume that is what you meant in .1. They will be pleased. ...Mike | |||||

Yes, that is what I meant. The intent is to
have EDIFACT/CONTRL work like X12/997.
