| LPx450 used 5volt parts. AMDDX2's are 3volt parts I think. That means
you'll need at LEAST a $25-$50 Voltage adapter if it works at all due to
additional BIOS problems you might/will encounter. (Cache mode is a
killer, write-thru/write back, etc.)

I seem to remember a Venturis 466 with a 5V AMD part. That one
should be 100% Intel compatible. Regarding jumper changes, yes
you will need to change the clock speed from 25MHz to 33MHz or
your 486/66 will run just like your 486/50.
Given that the above information, if incorrect re: 5V chip, will
likely burn out a chip, can you go back and check your Venturis
486 voltages?

| Yes, I too seem to remember AMD made some 5V DX2 parts, but those were
replaced apparently with 3V parts. I looked in the display ads in the
PC rags, and NOBODY lists anything but 3v DX2-66 parts anymore.

| The AMD chip is stamped 3 volts, so I'm not going to try it on the LPx.
