7335.0. "DECpc 433 (Olivetti) and new video card" by VYGER::KIRKPATRICKI (IAN KIRKPATRICK@AYO) Tue Jan 28 1997 10:56
    I've installed a Cirrus Logic CL-GD5429 Video card in a DECpc 433
(Olivetti version) with a VRC15-KA monitor running under Windows 95.

I configure via Control Panel/Display/Setup/Change Display
I select under Adapter Type, Cirrus Logic then Cirrus Logic 5429 and
then the drivers are loaded from the Windows 95 CD-ROM.

The Windows setup shows me all the options I would expect - 600x480,
    800x600, 1024x768 at 16 or 256 colours or 64K, etc.
The monitor setup is SVGA 1024 x 768.

    I setup as 600x480 with 16colours - OK.
800X600 with 16colours - screen is diagonal colours
              1024x768 with 16colours - no picture
Any option at 256 colours behaves as 1024x768 16 colour setup.
The video card is OK, and I think the problem is conflict - original
video card (intergrated on motherboard) and the new card. I think
that the old card is NOT disabled, but I have been unable to obtain
any technical documentation for this machine.
Are there jumpers on the motherboard I need to change to disable the
    original video card.
This is reaching "phone the samaritans" level. Can anyone please advise.

    Ian Kirkpatrrick.
