I'm getting an error (the GPF) like that just attempting
to invoke VTX (V2.7 - TeamLinks Library Services) on two
separate NT (one V3.51, the other V4.0) Systems.
Will this run on NT?
Thanks!

| | in general, yes it does. (usually v4 these days).

Are you using the winsock transport? (If not, which)

| | well, yes, that's what your doing, but to the vtx install, that's not
an option. It's either/or. You can have TCP/IP, and some choices,
-OR- WinSockets (to the vtx install).

The error you reported is 'typically' a tcp/ip install.

You need to delete that installation and install specifing winsockets
    transport.

Bill, I'm doing a TeamLinks Office Install and only
selecting TeamLinks Library Services to be installed.
My only Network Protocol option is: TCP/IP using
Windows Sockets.
Should I be installing a "stand-alone" VTX product?

| | Try the kit at
    http://welkin.shr.dec.com:5010/TLS27_NV.ZIP
however, you may have to get rid of office .dlls before it works.
Depending on if it installed any - you didn't want the office part of
    it, right?

Thanks, Bill. I'll try that Kit. Yeah, I didn't need
TeamLinks Office, only the VTX piece. Guess doing the
TeamLinks Installation, but only choosing the Library Services
portion wasn't such a good plan. :^(

re: .9
Bill, I finally got around to trying:
http://welkin.shr.dec.com:5010/TLS27_NV.ZIP
When I Unzip it (with WinZip 6.2), it puts
all the files into a directory Disk1.
However, part way through the Setup, it's
looking for files in Disk2, and consequently
bombs-out!
Any suggestions?
Mike
P.S. The full installation claims it's going
to be 12Mb+!

the TLS27_NV kit is for installing TLS *without* the Teamlinks viewers. If
you're using this kit, you need to make sure that the option "Install viewers"
is *not* checked.

if you do want to install the viewers, use the full install kit TLS27.ZIP
available from
HNGOVR::GALPUB$:[VTX$PUBLIC.TLS_V27]TLS27.zip
You'll notice that the full installation does amoount to 12Mb+ but most of that
is for Teamlinks viewers to view non-text files (eg Word docs).

| | BTW, if you get the following symptoms, then you've got the wrong TLS kit. This
bug was in the T2.7 field test and was fixed for V2.7:

After launching I get a window titled TLS:DASL TRACE with the
        statement:
         [TLS_DEBUG] LOGFILE not defined using-DslTrace.log
after acknowleging that window I get a window stating

        A General Protection Fault occurred
The client will attempt to free...
