We went through the tie debate lasted year.  I said that it should be like the 
"fun and amusement" football cards, where a tie is a loss.  The masses said that
a tie should be a tie, and I was out voted.

Gee REK, you must make more money than I do, becasue if you have a clue, you 
clearly purchased it at your neighborhood K-Mart store.

Earlier today we (see note 139.11 [that's right after 139.10 and before note 
139.12, REK]) Claybone suggested that a tie count as half a win and half a loss.
I counterd this (note 139.12) by proposing that a tie counted as a loss (am I 
going too fast here).  Either one of these alternatives was different from 
lasted year, when a tie counted as a tie. To the best of my knowledge, we had 
never resolved this issue.

I don't have a clue.  Period.  I can't buy one at K-mart, I can't rent
one, I can't even receive one as a gift, and as each day goes by I'm 
beginning to realize that I'm a bigger waste of skin than Kevin Romine.


That being said, I think we should do it exactly the same way as a bookie
would look at it.  NOT, of course, that I'd know anything about that, but
I know some of the noters might have that knowledge, no doubt gained from
research in the pursuit of a master's thesis....

I used to have SHARE at 6.738 but now its 37.106. That's how come it
looks like 37994::DERRY instead o' SHARE::DERRY. FWIW, 37994 translates
into 37.106.

If'n you look around lately you'll see some other familiar node::users
with numbers for a node name. Very bad form, that.

It's probably a CAM3 problem.  I've got our system manager's attention
about it, and he's supposed to update the network database....

For instance, Chappy is on WMOIS. We're in a_FFL together and all of a
sudden he shows up with some numbers before his name. Nothing to do with
CAM3. I think Mike Heiser's FRETZ went through the same thing. All of a
sudden he's number_something::HEISER and that's on VIA.

It looks like someone up in Networks North is playing spin the node
address.

    I notice the line and the line used for pool is different (large) in

    A lot of little .5 diffs also but different sources would account for

Joe's been messing with the spread a lot this year. The Chiefs have been
listing him a tentatively questionable early each week. Then by gametime
it becomes apparent that he's gonna play.

Some have been moving the line in favor of the Chiefs opponent, some a
listing a line as if Joe will play and some are giving it the big NL (no
line).

I dunno all the details, but there is some kind of big node registration 
compliance thing goign on these days corporate wide.  I suspect that if 
certain areas were not re-registered by X date, they were dropped from
the networks database.

I try NOT to have thorough checkups because I don't like it when the
doctor puts on that rubber glove and palpates my prostate.
